Resistive Touchscreen Technology

Resistive touchscreen is one of the first touchscreen technologies to emerge. This technology has the advantages of simple structure and low price, but the response speed is slow, and may be worn out after a long time of use.


Capacitive Touch Screen technology

When the user's finger touches the screen, a very small current will be sucked away, this current flows from the four corners of the touch screen electrodes, and the current flowing through the four electrodes is proportional to the distance from the finger to the four corners. Controller through the four current ratio of the precise calculation, the location of the touch point. Capacitive touch screen has the advantages of high sensitivity, fast response speed, support for multi-touch and so on, but usually need bare fingers to touch, wearing gloves may not work properly.


Infrared Touch Screen Technology

Infrared touch screen by installing infrared transmitter and receiver tubes on all four sides of the screen, forming an infrared detection network. When a finger or other object touches the screen, it will block the infrared rays passing through the location, and the touch screen can determine the touch location after scanning the change. Infrared touch screen is not affected by temperature, humidity and other environmental factors, high resolution and other advantages, but the installation and maintenance costs are high, and is susceptible to dust, water vapor and other interference.


Surface acoustic wave touch screen technology

Surface acoustic wave touch screen utilizes the characteristics of acoustic wave propagation on the surface of the medium to detect the touch position. It is mainly composed of touch screen, acoustic wave generator, reflector and acoustic wave receiver. The acoustic wave generator sends high-frequency sound waves across the surface of the screen, and when the finger touches the screen, the acoustic wave on the contact is blocked, thus determining the touch position. Surface acoustic wave touch screen has the advantages of high resolution, no electromagnetic interference, and long life, but it is more costly and susceptible to contamination by dust, water droplets, and other contaminants.
